Jess the ADHD Mess

Just a neurospicy, WFH toddler mama trying to raise two kind humans.

HELLO

I’m Jessica! Late diagnosed with ADHD at 34 years old during the pandemic after an epic mental breakdown in my closet – it’s nice to meet you! I’ve chosen to utilize my hyper-focus abilities to do and learn some pretty cool things – hopefully one or some that can help you or your family.

Sensory Bins

Create a themed sensory bin for hours of endless fun & benefits for your child! These bins have given me 45 minutes to 2 hours of time literally every day!

Some of my themed bins for inspiration:

My Little Pony

RAINBOW, PINK & PURPLE

Sensory Play Benefits

  • Helps with language skills – By engaging the senses, your child will learn how to describe what they’re doing and how it feels, eventually using more descriptive words to communicate.
  • Helps with fine motor skills – Through tactile play that focuses on building, pouring and mixing, your child builds on their ability to use small muscle groups and coordinate movements.
  • Helps with gross motor skills – includes sitting, crawling, jumping and running; activities that use your child’s body’s large muscles in their arms, legs and core (stomach area).
  • Helps with cognitive growth – With sensory play, your child is working on problem-solving skills. It encourages them to explore how to play and engage with different experiences as well as how to maneuver challenges they encounter.
  • Has a calming effect – Sensory play can be used to help regulate your overall arousal level. You can use it to stimulate a child who might be a little sluggish. On the other end, sensory play can help a child who might have hyperactivity or trouble paying attention.
